On November 3, our country will place the process of democracy on the world stage. In several states, ballots for the General Election are already being cast in what is no doubt the most important election of our lifetimes. The House and Senate have introduced stand alone legislation for a Payroll Support Program clean extension. It is still our hope for a complete covid relief bill to help all Americans. But we need to keep calling and tweeting both the House and Senate. The link below makes [...]
They say it is always darkest before the dawn. The passing of Ruth Bader Ginsburg Friday is a great loss. The partisan rhetoric in DC is going to make it more difficult to get our message of urgency to pass a COVID relief bill. So we need to increase our #ReliefNOW campaign. [...]
It is just amazing the great work you have all done. Hawaii members have by far exceeded any expectations I imagined. So again, thank you and congratulations on a job well done! I just got off the phone with Stephen Schembs, our AFA-CWA Government Affairs Director. We in Hawaii achieved in the first week with all your calls, the support of [...]

The Cares Act included a Payroll Support Program which gave grants to commercial airlines including Hawaiian Airlines. This kept airline workers on payroll with benefits while working or on any voluntary furlough, leave of absence, or low time flying through the end of September 2020. At the time the program was issued, we had no idea that the pandemic would still be [...]
