MASTER EXECUTIVE COUNCIL (MEC)

Committees

MEC Committees act as the Liaison between the Membership, the MEC and the Company.  They report to the MEC Officer overseeing the committee on any discussions with the Company.  Any significant discussions should be reported to the MEC Chairperson.  They also support MEC policies and positions when dealing with the Company and work together with other committees on a specific project as needed.

Ultimately, the Association of Flight Attendants - Communication Workers of America (AFA-CWA) is governed by the AFA Constitution and Bylaws as adopted by the AFA Board of Directors.  The MEC has adopted a MEC Policy and Procedure manual to address matters of business that the AFA Constitution and Bylaws does not.  The MEC Policy and Procedure Manual can be amended by majority vote of the voting members of the MEC as needed.
