SYD Hotel & Bag Update

We have just received notice from the Management team at our SYD hotel, The Four Points by Sheraton Sydney/ Central Park, that they will no longer be storing crew bags for long term. In fact, they have set a deadline for all crew bags to be removed from their storage space. The deadline is March 31, 2024. If you have any bags stored at this hotel, please retrieve them or work with one of your fellow FAs to have them retrieve them for you by this deadline. [...]

LAX Shuttle for Hyatt Place Hotel

Effective immediately, the Hyatt Place Hotel will be providing new shuttle service for all hotel guests utilizing a Hyatt Place Hotel branded shuttle. These new shuttle buses will pick up our crews at the same location at LAX. The new shuttles are all white, and larger, and have signs displaying "Hyatt Place Hyatt House Century Blvd". When crews arrive at the shuttle stop at LAX, please text (310) 751-7558 to have a shuttle dispatched to pick you up. [...]

On March 25, AFA International President Sara Nelson convened another joint merger meeting between AFA Hawaiian and Alaska leaders, along with AFA General Counsel/Director of Collective Bargaining and our Senior Staff Negotiator. Until the government approves the merger and the corporate transaction is executed, nothing moves forward on the merger front. In the interim, it’s important to understand that many negotiated protections already exist in our current AFA Contracts and AFA’s Constitution & Bylaws. This communication will explain how we are already protected before a Merger Protocol Agreement is even negotiated. [...]

On Friday, February 2, the Master Executive Councils (MECs) for Hawaiian and Alaska met in Los Angeles to discuss the proposed merger between our two companies as required by Section X.B.5. of the AFA-CWA Constitution and Bylaws. The meeting was chaired by AFA-CWA International President Sara Nelson.
